CCNMA Latino Journalists of California has selected the 10 Most Influential Latina Journalists in California this year.
"This year we are celebrating a group of amazing journalists across California representing different platforms,” said Jacqueline Garcia, Latinas Conference Chair. “We recognize their reporting ranging from climate change to social justice, politics and many other topics that affect the communities they represent.”

“We excited to celebrate these amazing journalists from across the state and across different platforms,” said Mekahlo Medina, Executive Director of CCNMA Latino Journalists of California. “From science reporting on the drought to being on the front line of civil unrest, these women demonstrate some of the best in journalism."
The CCNMA elected board made the final selection based on nominations from members, journalists and alike.
We will honor the list at our annual online Latina Journalist Conference on November 13th.
The half day conference starts will panel discussions around safety for Latina reporters online and in person, dealing with mental health issues as a Latina journalist and a chat with the first Latina Executive Director of IRE.
At 12 noon, we will honor recipients and name the 2021 Emerging Latina Journalist of the year and the 2021 Latina Journalist of the Year from this year's list.
