Eileen Truax is a Los Angeles-based freelance journalist who covers immigration, politics and US-Mexico relations. She’s contributor to Hoy Los Ángeles and El Universal newspapers among other publications in the US and Latin America. Previously she worked for La Opinión, the largest Spanish-Language daily in the US. Originally from Mexico, Eileen is founder of Cuadernos. Colectivo de Cronistas Latinoamericanos, a journalist’s network with members in eight countries. She has been a board member at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ). She’s author of Dreamers, an immigrant generation’s fight for their American Dream (Beacon Press, 2015). Her second book about the exile and asylum process from Mexico to the US is due for publication in January 2018
