KTTV-TV (Los Angeles) news director Jose Rios has been appointed vice president of digital news applications for Fox Television Stations.

Former CCNMA Board member Ricardo Pimentel is leaving his position as an editorial columnist at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to become a metro columnist at the San Antonio Express-News.

Current Board member Greg Hernandez has joined the staff at the Los Angeles Business Journal and Justino Aguila has joined the staff of Billboard in Los Angeles.

Maria Elena Fernandez has left the Los Angeles Times and has joined the Daily Beast.

Jaime Real, a student in CCNMA’s 2010 San Jose summer high school journalism workshop, has won a $1,000 scholarship from the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund, a sponsor of the workshop, for his story on undocumented students struggling to get a college education.
